About the Role
As an Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be collaborating with hardware and software engineers and architects to ensure the security and resilience of automotive systems and connected vehicles. You will assist in defining and implementing robust cybersecurity countermeasures and implementations, champion their proper re-use within project teams and continually evolve them as the vulnerability and technology landscapes evolves. This role collaborates with global project and platform development teams.
You will report to the Director, HW Core Assets within the HW+ Engineering organization. You will have no direct reports.
What You Will Do
Development and integration of the Cybersecurity features for Automotive ECU.
As an SME, in atleast one of the Cybersecurity domains, should lead the Cybersecurity activities related to Cybersecurity Architecture, design and implementation.
Implementation of comprehensive cybersecurity features for automotive systems, adhering to industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends.
Participate in the validation of those Cybersecurity features and contribute to evolving Cybersecurity architectures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and establish security requirements, integrating cybersecurity measures throughout the entire development lifecycle.
Grow your understanding of secure communication protocols, access control mechanisms, encryption solutions, and intrusion detection systems within automotive systems.
What You Need to Be Successful
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, with a focus on automotive or embedded systems.
Proficient in Programming languages – C/C++, understanding of Linux OS.
Knowledge of security technologies (e.g., cryptographic algorithms, intrusion detection systems, sandboxing, firewalls).
Knowledge of cryptography, secure key storage, key exchange methods, and trusted platform architectures
Bonus Points if You Have
Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as ISO 21434
Experience in secure coding practices and standards, specifically in C and C++ for embedded systems.
Can-do attitude with unwavering sense of urgency
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Self-motivated, results-driven individual and passionate about work.
What Makes You Eligible
Be willing to travel up to 10%, domestic and international travel.
Be willing to work in a Harman office in Romania.
Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment (post-offer).
This position requires the use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle. As such, any offer of employment will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN’s sole discretion, no more than four (4) active points for moving violations (issued by any motor vehicle agency), and no references to operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances within the last 10 years.
