Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for developing innovation solutions? Join our team! As a Mass Properties Engineer II, you will perform independent calculations and analyses of mass properties for aerospace systems and components. You will take on more complex tasks and contribute significantly to project success by ensuring accurate mass properties data is integrated into design and analysis processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed mass properties calculations and analyses for aerospace components and systems.

  • Develop and maintain mass properties models and databases.

  • Conduct and oversee mass properties testing and validation.

  • Inventory and weigh aircraft.

  • Generate aircraft weight and balance paperwork.

  • Collaborate with design and analysis teams to incorporate mass properties data into project workflows.

  • Prepare and present technical reports and documentation.

  • Participate in design reviews and provide mass properties expertise.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience.

  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.

  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices.

  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams.

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience with advanced mass properties analysis software and tools.

  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.

  • Knowledge of industry standard aerospace principles, to include, but not limited to, parametric design, model-based definition, fundamentals of flight mechanics.

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, US Department of Defense and/or US Military.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.

  • May require lifting up to 25 lbs occasionally.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

  • Work in an office, lab, hangar, or hybrid environment.

  • May be required to occasionally climb stairs or ladders.
