Purpose:

The Data Support Specialist supports the UTeach Institute’s research and evaluation projects and initiatives. The Evaluation Unit supports data collection, analyses, and programmatic implementation for various initiatives across the UTeach Institute, including UTeach program implementation at 50+ UTeach partner universities across the US, K-12 Initiatives, and other special projects (i.e. Get the Facts Out, research support, etc.).

Responsibilities:

  • Data Management and Operations (45%): Coordinate and support data collection, processing, validation, and archival activities across multiple initiatives. Maintain structured datasets and databases, ensure data integrity and accuracy, and support the preparation of datasets for reporting, analysis, and long-term access.

  • Survey Administration and Reporting (15%): Administer recurring and ad hoc surveys for internal and external stakeholders, including coordinating distribution, monitoring participation, compiling results, and preparing aggregate datasets and summary reports to support program assessment and decision-making.

  • Database Administration and Systems Support (15%): Manage and maintain enterprise database systems to support organizational initiatives, including contact management, alumni engagement, employment tracking, and program reporting. Provide functional support for reporting and dashboards, ensure data readiness, and offer technical guidance and training to users.

  • Data Analysis and Research Support (10%): Provide data evaluation and research support for strategic initiatives by conducting routine analyses, managing research-related datasets, organizing stakeholder and site information, and maintaining data resources to support program goals and external collaborations.

  • Program and Partner Data Support (10%): Support data entry, processing, quality control, and reporting needs for state and grant-funded initiatives. Serve as a point of contact for external partners during scheduled data collection cycles, offering coordination, technical assistance, and follow-up to support timely and complete submissions.

  • Organizational Collaboration and Professional Engagement (5%): Collaborate across teams to support operational and programmatic activities, participate in meetings and events as needed, adhere to institutional policies and guidelines, and contribute to a positive workplace culture. Engage in professional development activities that support organizational effectiveness and mission alignment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of functions and pivot tables.
  • Mail merge knowledge.
  • Excellent communication verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent attention to detail. Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Excellent teamwork skills. 
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in higher education academic settings.
  • Knowledge of data collection techniques
  • Experience with Qualtrics survey platform or other survey platforms such as Survey Monkey
  • Experience with Salesforce.

Salary:

$65,000+ depending on qualifications
