Challenger Limited is an ASX-listed investment management firm managing $128.2 billion in assets (as at 31 December 2025). Life with us is fast moving and always exciting. Together we’re driving to deliver our vision to provide our customers with financial security for a better retirement.
We achieve this goal by providing a work environment where people from diverse backgrounds, with a range of skills and experiences can contribute and succeed.
Product Owner, Corporate Technology (Workday & Enterprise Systems)
Make meaningful impact - your prioritisation and delivery decisions will improve the tools used by Finance, HR, Risk, Legal and Company Secretariat.
Own the roadmap end-to-end across the corporate systems landscape (Workday at the core)—set priorities, make trade-offs on investment, and steer outcomes.
Lead through influence - partner with internal teams and Accenture to balance run and change and deliver controlled releases that improve the platform.
We offer a flexible hybrid model based out of our Martin Place, Sydney CBD office - typically three days in-office and two days from home.
About the opportunity
You’ll sit at the centre of our corporate applications, owning the product direction for platforms that are business-critical and highly visible. With Workday at the core, you’ll shape what we deliver next across the broader corporate systems landscape - turning complex needs into clear priorities and outcomes.
You’ll work across Workday plus a broader suite of corporate platforms (including Anaplan, Workiva and Archer), partnering with subject-matter experts to land integrated, end-to-end outcomes.
You won’t be doing it alone: you’ll partner with internal teams and our delivery partner Accenture to move from discovery to delivery. Success in this role looks like a platform landscape that stays stable and resilient, while still evolving - through a steady cadence of well-managed change.
Your focus will be on three core areas:
Hands-on ownership of the corporate systems backlog and roadmap (Workday at the core) from intake and triage through to prioritisation and release.
Balancing run and change: platform health, defect/incident prioritisation, upgrades and controlled releases
Partnering with vendors to deliver outcomes to agreed scope, timelines and service expectations (including SLAs)
Product Ownership
Own product outcomes end-to-end across Workday and adjacent corporate systems—from discovery through to delivery and adoption—turning ambiguity into clear options and measurable improvements (not just outputs).
Bring Workday and enterprise systems understanding to spot end-to-end impacts early (including integrations, reporting, and non-functional needs like reliability and performance).
Partner with Accenture and internal teams to sequence work, manage dependencies and keep stakeholders aligned through simple, consistent governance and planning cadences.
Shape the platform direction over time - driving upgrades, automation and continuous improvement opportunities that reduce friction and risk for the business.
Agile Delivery & Vendor Partnership
Keep delivery moving - set clear priorities and run the key agile cadences with your partner-led squad so work is ready to release.
Hold vendors and partners to account (including SLAs), using regular service reviews and clear escalation to lift quality, reliability and delivery outcomes.
Bring a risk-aware mindset - embed controls, compliance and security into change so releases are auditable and well-governed.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a Product Owner who enjoys shaping priorities, making trade-offs, and delivering outcomes through others. You’ll be comfortable leading through influence across internal teams, senior stakeholders and delivery partners, and you’ll bring demonstrated agile delivery experience - planning sprints/releases, managing dependencies and driving outcomes with cross-functional teams.
You’ll do well in this role if you:
Are a strong problem solver - able to diagnose issues, run option analysis, and unblock delivery in partnership with business and vendors.
Are comfortable working across an enterprise systems landscape (multiple platforms, integrations, vendors and business areas).
Are confident owning a roadmap and backlog and aligning stakeholders to a shared set of priorities.
You’ll also bring:
Solid Workday experience, with sound knowledge of configuration, integrations, and core process flows.
Experience delivering through a partnered model (internal teams + Accenture), including vendor/SLA management and budget/spend awareness.
Effective workshop facilitation and requirements discovery skills, turning business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
Experience with corporate Finance/HR systems and end-to-end business processes (including downstream reporting impacts).
Confidence running a live platform—triaging incidents/defects, prioritising fixes, and coordinating end-to-end change across integrations and testing.
