UA Donor Relations Intern (Student Wage)

Charlottesville, VA Part time

University Advancement is looking for a motivated intern to join the Donor Relations team and contribute to our stewardship initiatives. In this role, you will help ensure donors remain connected to the University and understand how their philanthropic contributions support and strengthen every area of our institution. This internship will run from June through August 2026, with flexibility around the exact start and end dates. The position pays $19.00 per hour. Standard office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the intern will work 10–15 hours each week. Tasks may be completed either remotely or from our Charlottesville offices. The intern will report directly to the Assistant Director of Donor Relations.

We are seeking a candidate with strong writing abilities, solid data management skills, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team on a range of donor stewardship assignments, including scholarship stewardship and endowment reporting. An ideal applicant will meet the following qualifications:

  • Excellent research, editing, and written communication skills
  • Comfortable and proficient in handling sensitive data
  • Interested in leading and creating projects to meet the needs of the team.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Power Automate
  • Willingness and capacity to learn and adapt to new technologies and software
  • Highly organized and a proactive self-starter
  • Is customer-service and community oriented and ready to apply those principles to the University’s donors
  • A high level of professionalism, along with a commitment to meeting deadlines and producing accurate and high-quality work

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
