Study Technician – Contingent Worker
Labcorp is seeking a Study Technician – Contingent Worker to join our team in Shanghai China.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintains well-documented laboratory records according to SOP’s and GLP’s. Reviews own data and identifies potential problems.
Assists with technical functions in accordance with training.
Provides and maintains inventory of equipment, animals and supplies.
Maintains animal rooms and equipment in compliance with GLP, AAALAC and USDA requirements.
Learns how to determine, document and review clinical observations, body weight data, food consumption data, environmental data, and other data on the appropriate data collection system (or by hand when necessary).
Learns how to interpret a protocol.
Learns how to ensure that a study is conducted according to protocol, SOPs and government regulations.
Learns how to perform basic dosing techniques and restraint procedures.
Learns to euthanize animals.
Recognizes deviations from expected results and takes appropriate action.
Report all animal care concerns and become involved in the resolution and appropriate corrective action, as necessary.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1 or more years of experience at the Animal Tech level while employed at Labcorp, or 3 or more years of experience as an Animal Technician.
Must be able to work in a laboratory setting with laboratory animals.
Preferred Qualifications:
AALAS certification at the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician level.
Additional Job Standards:
Ability to accurately read, record, and communicate observations.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting throughout the day.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
Requires extended hand manipulation, including grasping and holding.
Comfortable with overtime and weekend work if required.
Comfortable undergoing mandatory immunizations and screening as required.
May work with potentially hazardous substances, including teratogens, carcinogens, or radiolabeled test materials.
Work may require protective clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE).
