MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS: 

 
Staffing Consultants at Kainos are integral to aligning individuals with suitable roles within the Digital Services business unit, thereby ensuring optimal staff placement that drives organisational success. 

 

As a Senior Associate Staffing Consultant, you will collaborate closely with Delivery Managers and Senior Stakeholders to support and facilitate the effective allocation of staff to appropriate project assignments.  

 

The position requires an understanding of various job functions and skill sets to accurately evaluate staff suitability for project roles. Key responsibilities include accountability for the end-to-end staffing process: identifying individuals with the requisite skills, making informed recommendations to Delivery Managers, effectively communicating role assignments to staff, and maintaining accurate records within the staffing process / systeminitiating process improvements to achieve efficiencies within the staffing process. 

 

You will be expected to review staffing demand aligned with anticipated project requirements, optimising utilisation, minimising bench and unfunded time. Demonstrating strong communication, influencing, problem-solving, and relationship management skills is essential to achieving success in this role. 

 

Your key responsibilities include: 

  • Responsibility for staffing allocations to align with business and individual needs across multiple sectors. 

  • Addressing staffing challenges by finding creative solutions, including rotations, resolving skills gaps and performance issues. 

  • Influencing and challenging Delivery Managers and Key Stakeholders to ensure the right outcomes are achieved. 

  • Minimising staff ‘bench’ time to meet sector profitability goals. 

  • Working to team guidelines and SLAs.  

  • Working with the Delivery Managers to ensure staff are appropriately assigned to project work, being mindful of the business and individual’s needs.  

  • Communicating allocation changes promptly to relevant parties.  

  • Ownership and accountability for the staff tracking and tools, maintaining the information with timely and concise updates to enable reporting on current and upcoming project demand and staff availability. 

  • Preparing timely staffing reports and dashboards to share across the sectors and wider Digital Services business unit for example, availability, demand, bench, unfunded days etc. 

  • Preparing and presenting staffing presentations to key stakeholders across the Digital Services business unit. 

  • Using the data available to provide staffing insights to make informed decisions on staff allocations 

  • Supporting the Staffing and Operations Managers as requiredsharing timely updates and escalations as necessary. 

 

Minimum (Essential) Requirements 

  • Demonstrated experience in staff allocations and assigning responsibilities, considering both project objectives and individual requirements within a medium-sized enterprise. 

  • Understanding of commercial considerations in a professional services context. 

  • Skilled at multi-tasking and prioritise assignments while working under pressure. 

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, personable and credible. 

  • Decisive under pressure with balanced staffing and commercial focus. 

  • Establish and cultivate strong relationships with diverse audiences across the business. 

  • Collaborating with management to determine short- and long-term recruitment to fulfil project demand. 

  • Ensuring timely and accurate processing of all staffing actions. 

  • Detail and quality orientated. 

  • Track record of delivering quality work within tight deadlines. 

  • Resolve conflicts and proactively initiate the staffing escalation process as required to achieve timely solutions to staffing issues. 

  • Positive, proactive approach to commercial, technical, and personnel challenges faced by Kainos. 

  • Work collaboratively on initiatives to improve the staffing process and tools to drive efficiency. 

  • Flexible, with a readiness to travel offsite to any Kainos location as required. 

  • Proficient in utilising Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. 

  • Understanding AI technologies and their potential applications for enhancing routine tasks. 

 

 

Desirable 

  • Knowledge of staff scheduling tools to identify available staff and support re-assignment. 

  • Technical background and familiarity with current technologies to understand individual roles and assist with staff assignment. 

  • Experience in developing and refining processes to enhance business efficiency.
