The Position

This role builds long-term capability within Diagnostics Direct Procurement (DOP) by embedding scalable processes, digital innovation, financial transparency, and sustainable governance structures.

By combining transformation leadership, business process excellence, and digital enablement, the position ensures that DOP remains effective, efficient, resilient, and strategically positioned for future growth.

You will drive the analysis, design, and continuous improvement of end-to-end (E2E) Direct Procurement processes within a global, cross-functional environment. You will actively shape the future-ready procurement landscape by embedding automation, standardization, and data transparency into core processes. You will particularly put emphasis on the interfaces with adjoining functions. 

Acting as a strategic bridge between business stakeholders and digital solutions (e.g., SAP S/4HANA and GEP Nexxe), you will translate business requirements into scalable, future-ready process and system designs aligned with the enterprise Demand-to-Pay framework.

This role combines deep functional process expertise, analytical excellence, financial acumen, and digital enablement capabilities to strengthen standardization, automation, governance, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

You will operate within large global transformation programs, contributing as both strategic thought partner and hands-on delivery leader. Working in an agile (SAFe) environment, you will represent Diagnostic Direct Procurement, influence design decisions, and develop innovative solutions to complex cross-functional challenges.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Program Leadership & Representation

  • Act as Senior Project Manager for Direct Procurement processes within SAP S/4HANA, GEP Nexxe and others.

  • Align Direct Procurement with the enterprise Demand-to-Pay template and global governance standards.

  • Serve as the voice of Diagnostic Direct Procurement in global workshops, fit-to-template sessions, and agile ceremonies.

  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving initiatives using structured analytical methods.

  • Develop new approaches to complex challenges and influence stakeholders across functions and hierarchies.

  • Proactively monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure timely achievement of project milestones.
     

2. Business Process Analysis & Optimization

  • Analyze current-state E2E Direct Procurement processes and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Conduct structured gap analyses, root-cause assessments, and impact evaluations.

  • Design optimized future-state processes aligned with global standards and scalable operating models.

  • Drive harmonization across regions and business units while enabling flexibility for evolving business needs.

  • Develop and maintain process documentation (e.g. BPMN, workflows, SOPs, RACI).
     

3. Requirements Engineering & Functional Design

  • Elicit, structure, and validate business requirements through workshops and stakeholder interviews.

  • Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications for SAP S/4HANA, GEP Nexxe and others.

  • Lead fit-to-template and fit-gap sessions to align system capabilities with business requirements.

  • Define user stories and acceptance criteria; ensure end-to-end traceability across implementation phases.

  • Support testing cycles, ensuring alignment between design intent and system execution.
     

4. Solution Consulting & Digital Enablement

  • Act as functional expert for Direct Procurement within global transformation initiatives.

  • Ensure robust integration with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Transportation Management, Warehousing, Commercial functions, Global Tax, Legal  and other stakeholders.

  • Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, digital enablement, and advanced analytics.

  • Ensure solutions are scalable, compliant, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

  • Support configuration validation and defect resolution from a business-process perspective.

  • Define use cases and support the delivery of AI solutions.
     

5. Business Case Development & Value Realization

  • Develop data-driven business cases for process improvements and system enhancements.

  • Quantify financial and operational impact (cost savings, efficiency gains, working capital improvement, risk mitigation).

  • Define baseline metrics and value-tracking mechanisms.

  • Support initiative prioritization based on strategic relevance and return on investment.

  • Track and report value realization post-implementation.
     

6. Deployment, Change & Governance

  • Support deployment activities including data validation, training input, go-live readiness, and hypercare.

  • Develop and execute structured change management strategies to drive behavioral and organizational adoption.

  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure transparent, proactive communication.
     

  • Monitor KPIs and process performance to enable continuous improvement.

  • Document lessons learned and promote best practices to strengthen global governance and template evolution.

     

Qualifications & Experience

Education

University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.

Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required with 6–8 years of relevant experience, or

  • Master’s degree preferable with 5–7 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in business analysis, functional consulting, or process transformation roles within global matrix organizations.
     

Specialist Knowledge & Competencies

  • Strong end-to-end (E2E) Procurement process expertise, with deep understanding of Demand-to-Pay integration and operational value drivers.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of cross-functional interfaces e.g. Supply Chain Planning, Transportation Management, Warehousing, and Commercial operations, ensuring seamless process integration and risk mitigation.

  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA (MM / Procurement modules) and procurement collaboration platforms such as GEP Nexxe; SAP

  • Proven experience in global transformation programs, ideally within complex matrix organizations or top-tier consulting environments; familiarity with agile delivery models (e.g., SAFe, Scrum). Relevant certifications (e.g., SAFe Agilist, Scrum Master) are advantageous.

  • Advanced business process analysis and requirement engineering capabilities, including fit-gap analysis, functional specification design, user story definition, and end-to-end traceability. Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or equivalent are a plus.

  • Strong solution design orientation, balancing standardization with flexibility while ensuring scalability and digital enablement.

  • Advanced Project Management skills, PMP certification or similar is a plus

  • Robust change management and stakeholder engagement expertise, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive adoption across organizational levels. Change management certification (e.g., Prosci) is beneficial.

  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to anticipate evolving procurement, digitalization, and supply chain trends and translate them into actionable process improvements.

  • Strong financial acumen, including experience in business case development, cost-benefit analysis, and structured benefit realization tracking.

  • Experience defining KPIs, performance measurement frameworks, and process dashboards, leveraging analytics to support continuous improvement and governance.

  • Data-driven decision-making orientation, with the ability to interpret operational and financial data to derive actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing skills, capable of translating complex technical topics into clear business language.

  • Ability to lead without formal authority, navigate ambiguity, and operate effectively in global, cross-functional, and matrix-based structures.

  • Demonstrated experience in consulting environments or advisory roles, applying structured problem-solving methodologies, stakeholder alignment techniques, and data-driven recommendations is a plus
