Senior Power Module Application Engineer

Power Module Application Engineer is responsible for the performance evaluation of power semiconductor devices independently designed by the company internally, including dynamic and static parameter and electrical parameter boundary characterization, thermal resistance testing and performance characterization at the power module level. Through parameter testing, performance calibration, and module level simulation, we provide accurate, feasible, and cost-effective power module recommendations and guidance for internal inverter projects, track application results, and support failure analysis throughout the entire lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities

 

·       Responsible for the technical evaluation and application support of the power module part of the internal inverter products of the company, recommending the selection of new projects, and supporting the technical review of clients.

·       Responsible for the dynamic, static parameter characterization tasks of power semiconductor devices, developing device performance evaluation plans, tracking test progress, summarizing and analyzing test data.

·       Responsible for coordinating technical parameters with fab suppliers, familiarizing oneself with the basic manufacturing process of customized chips, providing feedback on functional verification and application issues encountered, and collaborating to solve problems.

·       Support failure analysis at the power module and device levels in the project, respond promptly to project team requirements, collaborate across departments to solve problems in inverter project applications, and support root cause analysis and localization of inverter failures. Provide failure analysis solutions, output analysis reports and improvement plans, and promote the closure of technical issues.

·       Familiar with the basic methods of failure analysis for semiconductor power devices, master the basic principles of failure analysis equipment, possess the ability of failure analysis, and develop feasible and logical failure analysis plans for power devices.

 

 

Key Competencies

Bachelor's degree or above, major in power electronics, electronic information, semiconductor or related fields.

5-10 years of work experience in hardware design and application of power semiconductor inverters, reliability analysis, and familiarity with chip manufacturing processes.

Good English reading and writing skills, fluent English speaking is preferred.

Proficient in power semiconductor dual pulse testing, static and dynamic testing principles, equipment operation, and test result analysis.

Familiar with automotive industry standards such as AQG324, AEC-Q100, JEDEC, etc. is preferred.

Possess basic knowledge of power semiconductor chips, understand the correlation between device structure, process, and electrical performance.

Familiar with automotive electronic application scenarios, understanding vehicle system requirements, vehicle specification levels, and basic reliability requirements.

Proficient in using circuit and system simulation software such as MATLAB, LT-Spice, Ansys electromagnetic, etc.

Clear logic, strong ability to analyze and solve problems, good at independent positioning and solving engineering problems at power module level.

Some travel (less than 10%) and a flexible work schedule on occasion.
