The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a Senior Paralegal to support the Voting (VOT) Section of the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice (DOJ). The Voting Section enforces the civil provisions of federal laws that protect the right to vote, including the Voting Rights Act, the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act, the National Voter Registration Act, the Help America Vote Act, and the Civil Rights Acts.

This is not a remote position; on-site presence in Washington, DC is required five days per week. Travel within the continental United States may be required to support case activities

Responsibilities:


Works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or Project Supervisor. Work products are reviewed prior to submission; however, the incumbent will often develop these products with minimal direct supervision beyond written guidelines. In addition to functions performed by Paralegals, the Senior Paralegal:
 

  • Performs moderately complex legal research

  • Synopsizes transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use

  • Reviews case-related materials and identifies potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation

  • Drafts preliminary versions of simple legal memoranda and correspondence

  • Maintains contact primarily with other contractor staff, with occasional interaction with trial attorneys and DOJ personnel

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Paralegal certificate


Desired:

  • Experience with Relativity

  • Experience tracking incoming and outgoing productions

  • Experience downloading and reviewing document collections

Pay Range:

This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.​
 

Minimum Required Hourly Wage:

$31.69
