This role is a new opportunity within Entegris’ highly regarded Law Department.  The successful candidate will serve as an operational leader responsible for designing, building and continuously improving the systems, processes, and infrastructure that enable our high performing counsels to provide best in class legal services at scale.  This is not a legal advisory role.  The Director will be expected to identify strategic operational opportunities, build business cases, project manage implementations, and deliver measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Law Department Operations Leadership: Own and continuously improve the end-to-end operating model for the Law Department, ensuring efficient, scalable delivery of legal services across the organization.

  • Outside Counsel and Vendor Management: Drive outside counsel and vendor strategy, including e-billing administration, invoice review workflows, accruals, matter budgets, and spend forecasting; manage relationships with external firms and service providers, establish guidelines and performance metrics, and lead continuous improvement to maximize quality and cost-effectiveness.

  • IP Operations: Oversee intellectual property operations, including coordination with internal stakeholders and outside counsel on invention disclosures, patent/trademark filings, maintenance, and IP docketing.

  • Contract Operations (NDA, Sales, and Procurement): Manage the contract intake and execution process for core commercial and procurement agreements (including NDAs, customer/sales agreements, and vendor/procurement agreements), partnering with team members and the business to drive cycle-time improvements, playbooks, templates, and approval workflows.

  • Reporting & Analytics: Enhance a reporting framework that gives Law Department and executive leadership actionable visibility into operational performance, resource allocation and service delivery.  Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reporting for legal spend, matter/portfolio health, contract volumes and cycle times, and IP activity; define KPIs designed to enhance Law Department engagement and service.

  • Technology, Systems & Process Improvement: Own the Law Department’s technology stack (e.g., CLM, matter management, e-billing, IP docketing, e-learning/knowledge tools), including requirements, vendor management, configuration, adoption, integrations, and data quality.

  • AI Strategy and Implementation: Drive and execute the AI strategy for the Law Department, which will include evaluating and deploying AI and automation tools across the legal function and developing appropriate governance protocols and usage guidelines.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Lead through influence—partner closely with IT, Finance, Procurement, and other functions to implement and govern processes that support business objectives and meet applicable privacy/security requirements.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading Legal Operations or law department business operations as an individual contributor or leader, with end-to-end ownership of core operational functions (e.g., billing/e-billing, vendor management, reporting/analytics, and legal technology).

  • Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of experience or Master’s/Doctoral/JD degree with 10+ years experience in legal operations, corporate legal management, or related field; experience owning programs and driving outcomes in a complex, cross-functional environment.

  • Strong experience with legal spend management, including outside counsel management, budgeting/forecasting, accruals, and invoice review processes.

  • Experience supporting IP operations (e.g., working with IP counsel, docketing systems, portfolio reporting, and process management) is strongly preferred.

  • Experience supporting contract operations across common agreement types (including NDAs, sales/customer agreements, and procurement/vendor agreements), including intake workflows, templates/playbooks, and CLM administration.

  • Proven track record implementing and optimizing legal systems (e.g., CLM, matter management, e-billing, IP docketing) and driving adoption through training and change management.

  • Excellent project management, organizational, and analytical skills; ability to define KPIs, build reporting, and communicate insights to leadership.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment; experience in semiconductor or technology companies is a plus.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively across Finance, Procurement, IT, and business stakeholders.
