We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Product Engineer! This role is based at our Injection Molding facility in Lynchburg, Virginia and reports to the Director of Engineering.

Job Summary

As a Product Support Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting product design and development initiatives that drive IPEX’s mission. You will create adaptive 3D models, generate submittal drawings, and provide technical guidance to ensure new and existing products meet performance objectives. This is an opportunity to apply your engineering expertise while collaborating across teams to deliver innovative solutions for our customers.


Principal Responsibilities

  • Develop and issue 2D submittal drawings to support sales and field installation needs.
  • Create or adapt 3D models for existing products, new product development and tooling.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Apply ANSI drafting standards and proper dimensioning and tolerances.
  • Utilize structural and stress analysis methodologies as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to ensure manufacturability, quality, and cost targets.
  • Provide technical support to customers, field engineers, and internal teams for product selection.
  • Participate in warranty analysis and root cause investigations when required.
  • Work closely with engineering and sales teams to improve product performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Associate or Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in a product design or application/design engineering environment
  • Understanding of industrial product and materials regulatory requirements (PPI, AWWA, ASTM) preferred
  • Proficiency with Solidworks
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Basic project management skills capable of planning, executing and monitoring design assignments
