The Programme

The International Payroll & Governance Internship is designed to develop future payroll professionals through hands-on experience in global payroll operation, compliance and governance. Over 12 months, you’ll gain comprehensive exposure to international payroll cycles, vendor management, regulatory compliance and process improvement initiatives across multiple countries.

  • Structured 12-month training plan with progressive responsibilities.

  • Monthly check-ins and quarterly performance reviews.

  • Hands-on experience with international payroll systems and compliance.

  • Final project and presentation showcasing your learnings and contributions.

Ferring + You

International Payroll Operations

Support the global payroll team in delivering accurate and timely payroll services across multiple countries. Learn international payroll cycles, assist with data collection and validation, support monthly processing in collaboration with external vendors, and gain hands-on experience with payroll systems and tools. Understand local statutory requirements, tax systems, and social security frameworks while maintaining compliance with regulations.

You'll develop: Understanding of international payroll cycles and compliance, familiarity with payroll systems, analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.

Governance & Process Improvement

Participate in vendor meetings, support reconciliation and reporting activities, and maintain payroll records and documentation. Learn to prepare standard payroll reports and dashboards. Assist with audits and understand GDPR and data privacy requirements. Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external providers to resolve queries and discrepancies. Contribute to process improvement initiatives and automation efforts.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline

  • Graduating in 2025 or recently graduated (within the last 12 months)

  • Fluency in English is mandatory; Portuguese and other languages are valuable assets

  • Authorized to work in Portugal for the full 12-month duration

  • Available to commit to the full programme timeline and structure

  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
