Main Purpose:
Execution of all Natural Gas Liquids (C3, C4 & C5) scheduling activities for both rail and truck across North America. Co-ordinate all aspects of the post-deal trading activity to ensure contract execution runs smoothly and provide commercial/market information to trading groups as necessary.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Able to interpret the operational requirements of each contract, review and comment on operational aspects of same if requested. Understand the basic legal framework supporting rail shipments.
Good understanding of common US and Canadian rail carriers and terminology.
Experience in caverns, terminal and/or storage inventory control and logistics.
2 to 5 years’ experience in railcar and truck scheduling, economics and logistics.
Basic understanding of relevant petroleum product specifications.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, multifaceted environment with ability to make critical decisions as the need arises.
Key Responsibilities:
Concise execution of daily, weekly and monthly operational activities.
Schedule product movement through use of internal and third-party scheduling systems. Ensure relevant data is collected accurately and recorded timely.
Ensure contracts are fulfilled according to contractual terms, including nominations and declarations.
Monitor, reconcile, and validate quantities, inventory and railcar positions across each route and ensure traders are kept informed accordingly.
Confirm accurate inventory positions each month for all NGLs and properly model volumes in the system of record.
Liaise/coordinate with Trade Finance, providing accurate and timely data needed for issuance of LCs, PUs, pre-payments, etc.
Provide instruction and guidance to the Settlements team, to ensure timely invoicing / payment and monitor accounts receivables where applicable.
Coordinate and communicate with terminal personnel to ensure smooth operations and contract performance.
Ensure in-house inventory and scheduling system are updated regularly and reflect the latest information available
Monitor, advise and report transportation costs or ad hoc fees related to each contract and or transaction. (P&L awareness)
Establish and/or maintain good working relationships with contractual operations counterparts and third-party service providers.
Share knowledge and experience with less experienced members of the operations team to develop and increase knowledge / commercial awareness.
Follow internal procedures and comply with all company's policies. Adhere to Trafigura's Code of Conduct / HSEC Policy and Business Principles.
Identify and escalate operational issues to Rail Logistics Manager, seeking guidance as appropriate.
