Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Program Manager at VIAVI Solutions Inc. will lead and manage complex supply chain projects from initiation to closure, optimizing supply network relationships and processes, mitigating risks, and ensuring efficient material flow to support product development and manufacturing goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review, analyze and provide guidance to the organization using supply chain information from multiple sources to enable business decisions including assessment of ROI/ROIC, supply chain risk and revenue optimization
  • Develop, plan, and execute strategic supply chain programs, including second sourcing activities, new product introduction (NPI), cost reduction initiatives, and supply chain optimization projects.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Suppliers including contract manufacturers, R&D, Engineering, Product Line Management (PLM,) Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance and Sales to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Manage project budgets, resources, and schedules, ensuring adherence to established parameters and reporting on progress to stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including supplier performance issues, material shortages, and logistics challenges.
  • Lead supplier selection, qualification, and ongoing performance management activities in collaboration with Supply Chain Management (GCM/GCE) and other stakeholders (including R&D, Engineering and Quality.)
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain, leveraging data analysis and process re-engineering.
  • Communicate project status, issues, and resolutions effectively to all levels of the organization.
  • Prepare and present reports and presentations on program performance to senior leadership

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business (Operations/ Supply Chain Management preferred,) Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 3 years in operations management, program or project management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex, cross-functional supply chain projects from conception to completion.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including planning, procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and supply chain planning software.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop project plans, manage budgets, and track progress. Certifications including PMP, CSCM or CPIM are a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the telecommunications or optical technology industry is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally
  • Experience in working with Global and diverse suppliers of multiple component and service offerings
