Mill Electrical Instrumentation Craft Lead

Role: Mill Electrical Instrumentation Craft Lead

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the company for a Mill Electrical Craft Lead.

Reporting to the Head of Section Mill Maintenance and Electrical Team Leader the Mill Electrical Craft Lead is responsible for co-ordinating all aspects of the daily electrical maintenance and development in the Mill Department.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In line with applicable procedures, conduct all duties promoting Boliden’s values and best practice relating to environmental, health, safety and quality performance.

  • Role model Boliden’s core values always show use of them to drive continuous improvement.

  • Lead team of electrical crafts people to achieve EHSQ targets and ensure all works are planned and untaken in accordance with EHS standards and policies

  • Responsible for all personnel management and communication for their team

  • Work to ensure that all electrical, instrumentation and automation aspects of equipment meet regulatory standards

  • Co-ordinate planned and unplanned preventative and corrective maintenance.

  • Co-ordinate, plan and supervise contract maintenance or development work

  • Ensure electrical craft team are appropriately trained and competent for tasks assigned

  • Undertaking, and assisting in, the training of team

  • Managing staffing levels and leave allocation.

  • Creating, reviewing and updating SOPs

  • Be accountable for those aspects of the Concentrator Division as delegated by Mill Management under pertinent policies and procedures.

  • Deputise for other mill maintenance dept. personnel as required.

  • Other duties as determined by immediate supervisor

 Experience and Qualifications: 

  • A qualified Electrical craftsperson/ Instrumentation (QQI Level 6 Craft Qualification) coupled with experience in instrumentation and automation.

  • A solid understanding of the maintenance and technical aspects of the process.

  • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in heavy industry.

  • Previous leadership experience would be an advantage

  • First aid skills are a requirement for this role however training will be provided if this is not present.

  • Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation and automation systems and maintenance management systems.

  • Involvement in continuous improvement initiatives would be beneficial.

 Additional Info:

  • This role will be full time, Monday to Friday 07:30 am – 04:00 pm

  • There will be a requirement to participate in a formal standby/ callout arrangement.

  • There will be a degree of flexible proactive approach required as part of this role in line with operational requirements.

  • There may be requirement to undertake day to day tasks in addition to supervisory duties

  • There may be some travel required as part of this role.
