Kaplan is seeking an experienced Learning Analytics Manager to lead data-driven AI-powered learning projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine deep data analytical, machine learning, and AI skills with knowledge of assessments and learning science to drive measurable impact on learner outcomes and product effectiveness. 

The role will lead a team of research scientists and data analysts, collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop AI-enabled learning insights, evaluate course efficacy and effectiveness, develop outcome metrics,  personalized learning models, and predictive learning solutions. The role will be part of  Kaplan’s Learning Analytics and Psychometrics team, a global team consisting of talented professionals who enable proper assessment and learning functioning across all product lines and is responsible for learning and testing algorithms, within the Kaplan ecosystem.

The individual is a creative problem solver who utilizes analytical skills to uncover new and actionable insights which will drive student’s learning and outcomes. The position requires an experienced, highly motivated, self-driven individual, with strong leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills, able to multi-task independently with minimum supervision.

Primary/Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Director of Psychometrics and Learning Analytics on the assessment and learning analytic projects.
  • Develop and execute learning analytical initiatives which are aligned with organizational goals to improve learners’ experience and outcomes in online learning environments.
  • Lead a team of research scientists and data analysts to deliver the projects end-to-end. Provide project management and team leadership.  
  • Perform the full range of learning analytics activities including, but not limited to, descriptive analytics, predictive analytics, data mining, causal inference, machine learning, network analysis, and analytic dashboards.
  • Apply ML and AI models to identify learning gain, model learner’s behaviors, segmentation, at-risk prediction, develop learning metrics, recommend personalized learning paths, and improve learning product effectiveness.
  • Extract, preprocess, manipulate, analyze & interpret complex data from various corporate data sources. Ensure the accuracy, integrity and ethical use of learner data. 
  • Develop advanced analytic algorithms and solutions, derive key observations, findings, insights, and formulate actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with psychometricians, data scientists, content developers, platform engineers, product and business owners, and other stakeholders to solve product and business problems.
  • Prepare technical reports, whitepapers, and related documents. Present to key business partners and stakeholders.
  • Mentor team members and provide guidance on project directions and technical challenges. 
  • Hybrid Schedule: 3 days remote / 2 days in office
  • 30-day notification period preferred 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Educational Technology, Computer Science, Psychometrics or a related field with strong quantitative focus
  • 5 years of experience in learning analytical or education technology roles and proven experience managing teams. 
  • Track record of work experience with learners’ data and learning analytical projects.
  • proven experience effectively managing productive and engaged teams. 
  • Proficient in R/ Python or one programming language.
  • Proficient in data manipulation, applied statistics, and ML and AI models. 
  • Excellent working knowledge of SQL and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in EdTech, educational services, or training organizations
