The Role:

Pricing & Negotiations Lead reports to the Director, Market Access Strategy.  The P&N Lead will have the following  key areas of responsibility, including: (a) development, implementation and approval of list and net pricing strategies across our portfolio of in-line and in-market products, (b) develop the negotiations strategy and supporting analytics for Kite/Gilead portfolio of products with both public and private payers and (c) create, measure and report PLA performance metrics including invoicing and rebate reconciliation, which also includes all statutory reporting requirements and filings to government and payer agencies. Ensure list and net price strategies are aligned with the respective Market Access Strategy and Field Access & Payer Solutions cross functional partners, and the lead is responsible for putting together the business case to support all internal approval processes.   

You will improve the lives of Canadians by building relationships and work closely with departmental and cross functional colleagues in a fast-paced environment to achieve and maintain access to Gilead products. Through this role you will grow and be challenged in our diverse culture that will broaden your skills and expand your outreach in several therapeutic areas. Through the appropriate engagement of external stakeholders in the Canadian reimbursement environment, you will make a real difference in the lives of patients.

How you will ‘Create Possible’:

  • Lead in collaboration with key business partners, the development, across all Gilead/Kite therapeutic areas, the list and net price strategy, including preparing the business cases required to support navigating through the internal approval process

  • Lead all work associated with statutory reporting to Canadian pricing agencies / payers, aligned with the approved list and net pricing strategy

  • Lead all rebate reconciliation for PLA agreements with public and private payers.  Ensure all SOX requirements are met in reporting, reconciliation and payment.  Work with finance and maintain accurate systems.

  • Provide support and expertise, as an active member of the negotiations team, to create the negotiation strategy along with the execution of it – support with analytics and scenario planning, including leading any business cases required if additional approvals are required through the negotiations

  • Represent the local affiliate on Global pricing calls, purposed to leverage and adapt global tools to optimize product value proposition for the Canadian environment and/or to ensure a positive outcome with the proposed business case

  • Maintain deep and comprehensive acumen of the processes, policies, and trends in Canadian, provincial, and private environment to ensure market access plans meet the needs of payers

  • Build deep connections within the Gilead / Kite global pricing organizations

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years within the biopharma/pharmaceutical industry with experience in pharmaceutical pricing (GtN) and payer negotiations

  • Advanced degree in science, economics, public health, business, or related field of study would be an asset

  • Excellent communication and negotiations skills and demonstrated clear decision making; a strategic mindset

  • Experience and knowledge in Canadian access and reimbursement of products in across Gilead’s therapeutic areas would be an asset.

  • Demonstrated experience in health economic/pharmacoeconomic modeling and health technology assessment process would be an asset

  • Superior analytics skills

  • Experience in Canadian pricing environment, with demonstrated expertise to develop strategic pricing options and expertise to support reimbursement negotiations

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results

  • Comfortable and adaptive to working in a changing environment and ambiguity

  • Bilingual (English and French) written and verbal skills an asset
