Role Detail

In this 12-month contract, you’ll provide high-quality HR advice and support to national client groups, working closely with a highly experienced National People & Development Manager. You’ll contribute to the firm’s broader People & Development (P&D) strategy — helping shape the employee experience, drive performance, and support the firm’s ongoing success.

Based in our Melbourne CBD office, with a balanced approach to WFH, key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with client groups to deliver HR support that aligns with firm strategy and business goals.
  • Supporting delivery of key P&D initiatives, with a focus on resource planning, workloads and wellbeing.
  • Providing practical advice and guidance on cyclical workforce movements and activities, as well as policies, procedures and employment obligations including performance management, applying and interpreting relevant awards, policies, and legislation to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborating with the broader P&D team to ensure consistent and efficient service delivery across the business.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation, contributing to engagement and retention strategies.
  • Assisting with implementing firm-wide policies, systems and change initiatives.
  • Supporting cultural and organisational change projects that promote inclusion, engagement, and sustainable high performance.

About You

You’re an enthusiastic HR professional who’s already built a solid foundation in operational roles, now eager to grow your generalist and advisory knowledge and experience, taking on more responsibility in a professional, fast-paced environment.  As this is a contract position that will evolve over the 12mths, you need to be comfortable with ambiguity and change. You’ll also bring:

  • Degree qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and strong attention to detail, coupled with curiosity to connect information and identify underlying issues.
  • Solid understanding of employment legislation and HR best practice, with the capability to interpret and apply these within uncertain or changing circumstances.
  • Experience within a professional services or corporate environment (highly regarded), demonstrating adaptability in dynamic settings.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a practical, can-do approach.
