The Opportunity:

The Software Asset Manager is responsible for the management of software assets and requests across AIAA. This role reports to the Head of Service Provider Management.

Working closely with the Head of Service Provider Management and the broader Contract Management Team, the Software Asset Manager focusses on optimizing the purchase, deployment, maintenance and utilization of all software.

Additionally, the Software Asset Manager works with AIAA and Group Stakeholders to develop & maintain SAM Policy & Procedures.

This is a key role within Technology which liaises across the Technology Department, strongly supporting and partnering with the Leadership Team to ensure that software asset management is meeting requirements

To do this successfully you will:

  • Manage software requests across AIA and vendors
  • Negotiating new software contracts with vendors
  • Liaising and working with the Commercial and Legal teams to ensure software contracts are fit for purpose and meet business or project requirements.
  • Software Vendor management - including but not limited to building strong relationships with strategic suppliers, negotiating rates and discounts, identifying and understanding technical product requirements and researching industry standard solutions.
  • All General Operating Expense (GOE) managed within required limits for software assets and requests
  • Vendor delivery meets negotiated SOWs supporting project budgeted commitments for software
  • This is a key role within Technology which liaises across the Technology Department, strongly supporting and partnering with the Leadership Team to ensure that software asset management is meeting requirements


 


 

Successful applications will have:


• Relevant Tertiary qualification in Project &/or Program Management, Information Systems or Engineering disciplines

• 5 years working in vendor management (commercially, contract, delivery)

• Demonstrated ability to deliver results under demanding timelines.

• Knowledge of the Financial Services & Insurance industry is highly preferred in order to steer necessary implementations according to Insurance strategy.

• Additional deep knowledge of the contracts in place, their outcomes and the underlying deliverables required to achieve them to meet business strategic objectives

• Commercial contract and value negotiation skills

• Strong understanding of large scale system, information and technology architectures, including application integration patterns, messaging, service- oriented architecture, information models, and data lineage.

• Experience applying the above disciplines to real-world business problems, especially in the domains listed above.

• Proficient in MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Jira/Confluence
