What we want
The Graduate Academic Advisor III advises graduate students and guides faculty on university policies. Manages student records, develop advising materials, and coordinate events. Assists in developing advising policies, evaluate practices, and mentor advising staff. May also advise student organizations and support program coordination.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 years of experience in higher education or related fields.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong organizational, analytical and record-keeping skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to oversee and coordinate events or activities for graduate students.
Understanding of graduate admissions and program operations.
In-depth knowledge of academic advising principles and student support.
Ability to evaluate and improve program practices.
Ability to work with confidential information.
Leadership and mentoring skills.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Responsibilities
Graduate Student Advising
Advises graduate students on programmatic requirements and academic processes.
Collaborates with students to establish realistic goals, provides outreach, communicates important dates and deadlines, and offers necessary resources.
Manages the accurate documentation of graduate students and their academic progress.
Graduate Advising Support
Develops and maintains advising materials and resources for students.
Coordinates advising events and programs.
Assists in developing and implementing advising policies and procedures.
Evaluates and improves advising practices based on department and student feedback and program outcomes.
Faculty Support
Provides guidance to faculty on university processes and policies for graduate programs.
Mentoring
Mentors and trains graduate advising staff.
