Our entry-level leadership role of a Field Engineer is the backbone of our project teams—connecting plans on paper to work in the field. You’ll play a critical role in delivering some of the largest, most complex renewable energy projects in the country while building the foundation for a long-term career in construction leadership. This is a hands-on, high-impact role designed for those who want real responsibility early, to thrive in the field, and take pride in building infrastructure that matters. This position provides exposure to construction projects nationwide and supports professional growth through a wide range of potential career paths.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Project Execution & Field Coordination
Support daily construction operations to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
Coordinate with Trade Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to keep work moving efficiently
Track daily production quantities, equipment usage, and cost data to support accurate reporting and forecasting
Assist with short-interval planning (two-week lookahead) and daily Plan of the Day execution
Quality, Safety & Environmental Stewardship
Help enforce Blattner’s zero life-altering events safety culture on site
Support QA/QC inspections, documentation, and compliance with project Quality Plans
Assist with environmental compliance activities including SWPPP, erosion control, and permit requirements
Documentation & Cost Control
Support engineering reviews, RFIs, as-builts, and job book documentation
Assist with subcontractor progress tracking, pay applications, and change documentation
Monitor job costs against estimates and escalate risks or variances early
Collaboration & Leadership Development
Partner closely with Superintendents, Project Construction Coordinators, and Site Managers to support field leadership
Build strong working relationships with clients, landowners, utilities, and internal teams
Participate in structured onboarding, mentorship, and ongoing development opportunities

What We’re Looking For
Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Interest in renewable energy or large-scale construction projects
Willingness to travel and work project-based assignments (typical projects range 6–18 months)
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced field environment
A team-first mindset with a commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement
