- Develop and define audio system architecture for automotive applications (speakers, amplifiers, microphones, DSP blocks).
- Work with OEM and Tier‑1 teams to align audio requirements with system constraints (power, ECU, infotainment interfaces).
- Evaluate audio hardware components such as DACs, ADCs, audio amplifiers, equalizers, DSP processors, and microphones.
- Design signal routing, gain structure, and audio signal flows (analog and digital).
2. Acoustic Tuning & Optimization
- Perform in‑vehicle acoustic tuning using DSP tools, equalization, loudness compensation, and sound stage optimization.
- Conduct NVH‑related tuning to reduce unwanted noise contributions from vehicle cabins.
- Calibrate surround sound, bass management, volume curves, and sound modes (e.g., speech, music, navigation).
- Analyze speaker frequency response, THD, and dynamic range.
3. Testing & Validation
- Execute vehicle-level audio validation for OEM standards.
- Perform acoustic measurements using tools such as:
- Audio analyzers (Audio Precision)
- Measurement microphones
- RTA systems
- Validate system robustness across temperature, voltage, environmental conditions.
- Conduct EMI/EMC validation for audio circuits.
4. Software & DSP Integration
- Work with software teams to integrate DSP algorithms (EQ, filtering, compression, echo cancellation).
- Perform CAN, MOST, A2B, I2S, and Ethernet‑AVB based audio bus integration.
- Support firmware debugging for audio amplifiers, DSP modules, and infotainment ECUs.
5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with:
- Mechanical teams for speaker enclosure design
- Hardware teams for amplifier and PCB layouts
- UI/UX teams for audio experience and touch response
- Provide technical feedback to suppliers and lead technical reviews.
