As an Electrical Engineer at Boston Dynamics, you will play a role in the evolution of Atlas, our advanced humanoid robot. You will join a fast-moving team tackling the challenges of integrating high-performance processing and user interface elements within a densely packed and complex electromechanical system.
Boston Dynamics is seeking candidates with a passion for all things robotics. You will work hands-on — from the bench to the product — building, debugging, and validating systems ranging from component-level prototypes to fully integrated humanoid robots.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in circuit theory and a hunger to learn from world-class engineers. To thrive in this role, you must be able to work efficiently on multiple development threads in separate, evolving contexts.
How you will make an impact / Day-to-Day Activities:
Design electronics for use in advanced robotics, including power, analog, and microcontroller based circuits
Review designs, conduct failure analysis, and debug systems using strong circuit analysis fundamentals
Use schematic capture and PCB layout software (We use Altium)
Work cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to design and optimize PCBAs with challenging mechanical constraints
Use a wide variety of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM’s, power supplies, programmable loads, and spectrum analyzers to validate designs or troubleshoot electrical engineering problems
Utilize Linux command-line tools and scripting (Python/Bash/etc.) to configure radios/networks, execute tools, and automate testing
Develop comprehensive design documents and test plans/reports
