Course: Introduction to Philosophy and Ethics

This course is an introduction to the discipline of philosophy through a study of representative philosophical problems. Students are introduced to analytic tools that enable them to practice critical thinking, evaluate knowledge claims, and establish a rationale and justification for other academic disciplines. Topics to be considered include logic, epistemology, metaphysics, and ethics.

What You Will Do:

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions

  • Engage students in learning course objectives and topics

  • Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University

What You Will Bring:

  • Preferred: Master's in Philosophy (PhD preferred) with emphasis in ethics or Master of Divinity with coursework in philosophy and ethics from an accredited college or university AND 2 or more years professional experience teaching philosophy or ethics at the postsecondary level.
