The Workplace Effectiveness Lead Consultant is engaged to lead a range of projects, and business-as-usual activities, that require strong knowledge of all HR domains. This will include implementing business- optimization initiatives leading to the National Standardisation of people and business processes/ procedures at Salvos Stores.

About the Role:

Due to an internal secondment we have an exciting full time, fixed term, 12 month vacancy to join our National Workforce Effectiveness team at Salvos Stores in Blackburn, Melbourne with hybrid working arrangements.

This position leads Workforce Effectiveness across Salvos Stores by improving frontline ways of working through practical, store-ready procedures, step guides and operational tools. The role coordinates a small team of two Workforce Effectiveness Consultants and works with Retail, Operations, Customer Experience, Risk, People and Culture and other stakeholders to identify friction points, design solutions and support adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Workforce Effectiveness initiatives by developing clear, practical operational guidance for stores (SOPs, step guides, quick reference guides, forms and templates)
  • Identify improvement opportunities to simplify ways of working through frontline feedback and operational insights
  • Oversee governance and lifecycle management of operational materials including ownership, review cycles, version control, publishing and archiving
  • Support the development of a structured, user-friendly Knowledge Hub
  • Ensure content is consistent, searchable and fit for future digital/AI use
  • Pilot and refine improvements, driving continuous enhancement
  • Enable smooth implementation through simple, practical guidance and engagement
  • Monitor and report on progress, risks and resource needs

About You:

  • Proven experience in operational improvement, workforce enablement, process uplift or multi-site implementation (retail or similar environments highly regarded)
  • Strong capability in developing practical procedures and guides that teams can easily use during live operations
  • Experience leading or coordinating others, including coaching and quality assurance
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, align and manage expectations across functions
  • Experience in knowledge management, information governance or content lifecycle management (desirable)
  • Familiarity with workflow and collaboration tools used to plan, track and publish operational resources (desirable)
