Kite, a Gilead Sciences company, has successfully launched multiple cell-therapies in five indications across the globe, helping to change the paradigm of hema-oncology treatment. Kite is now planning to advance next-generation CAR T-cell therapies for relapse refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM). We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as an Associate Director, Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR). This is an exciting opportunity to join the global leader in the cell-therapy business and maximize patient impact by ensuring access to Kite's cell therapy in the RRMM space. This position is a Global HEOR role reporting to the Senior Director, RWE & HEOR, Multiple Myeloma. The role is based in Santa Monica, California (USA).
Job Description:
Primarily, this position will be responsible for the development and execution of global HEOR strategies to maximize access to anitocabtagene autoleucel (anito-cel) in RRMM around the globe. There will be a particular emphasis on supporting the development and maintenance of global economic models, systematic literature reviews (SLRs) and indirect treatment comparisons (ITCs), supporting the inclusion of patient reported outcome (PRO) measures into clinical trials and their subsequent analysis, as well as the development and execution of strategic HEOR projects to support access, differentiation and class expansion.
This role will collaborate extensively with our Real World Evidence (RWE) & HEOR team, including both US and ex-US leads to provide evidence required to support payer/provider interactions and reimbursement/dossier submissions. There will also be an opportunity to support Kite’s preparation for future launches of anito-cel. You will also collaborate cross-functionally with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Government Affairs etc., at a global level, as well as collaborate with external KOLs and decision-makers.
You will be expected to create or comment on study concept documents, protocols, analysis plans, and final study reports, as well as draft manuscripts for studies which include HEOR components. Advise on health economic analyses and/or economic models to assess cost-effectiveness/economic impact, clinical practice, and/or burden of illness leveraging Kite’s clinical study data, or external databases, or from scientific literature. Finally manage external HEOR consulting companies.
Key Accountabilities
Collaborate with regional-based (US and ex-US) colleagues, and lead the development and update of global economic models, SLRs and ITCs used to support market access across the globe
Work closely with global Market Access and Medical Affairs teams to ensure HEOR strategies and tactics align with key Global value messaging and support dissemination across the globe
Create or contribute to study concept documents, protocols, analysis plans, and final study reports, as well as draft manuscripts for studies which include HEOR/PRO components
Manage vendors to ensure timely delivery of studies
Interface with cross-functional partners in Market Access, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Legal/Compliance, and Commercial in the development of Global HEOR strategy and evidence generation
Represent Kite for Global HEOR-related activities at external professional, scientific meetings and forums
Collaborates with internal and external experts in the execution of studies and implementation of field-based, customer-focused initiatives (e.g., models, scientific communications, slide kits)
Provides internal training on HEOR methodologies and data results to key internal colleagues
Works closely with scientific communications, publications and other home and field colleagues to ensure scientific conference material is appropriate, relevant and accurate
Basic Qualifications:
Advance Degree (i.e., PhD) and 5 years of experience
Master’s Degree and 8 years of experience
Bachelors’ Degree and 10 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in the health economics, biostatistics, epidemiology (PhD or MSc who has strong relevant experience)
Previous industry experience within health economics and outcomes research, with research, technical modelling, and statistical analysis experience necessary to support a Global HEOR function
Previous experience working with Regional HEOR partners (US and ex-US), Market Access customers and other cross-functional teams to execute and deliver a Global HEOR strategy
Ability to adapt and stay abreast to recent methodological developments in health economics and outcomes research
Prior industry experience in multiple myeloma is highly preferred
Superior technical reading, writing and verbal communication skills with proficiency in communicating clinical technical information to varied internal and customer audiences
Demonstrated ability to manage a large number of complex projects
Highly motivated to function proactively, operate with a sense of urgency, bring tasks to completion
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as a key contributor to multi-departmental teams simultaneously
