JOB PURPOSE:
Howard is seeking a highly skilled Workday Financials Senior Analyst – Record-to-Report (Lead) to support and enhance the University’s Record-to-Report (R2R) operations. This role provides advanced functional leadership across Workday Financials, Workiva, and other financial systems, with a focus on streamlining workflows, increasing automation, strengthening controls, and improving the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial close and reporting processes.
The role serves as a key post-production lead within Finance Administration, partnering closely with Accounting, Financial Reporting, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure scalable, well-governed financial systems and reporting solutions.

This position does not have supervisory authority.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This role serves as the functional lead for Record-to-Report within Workday Financials, with responsibility for post-production support, optimization, and continuous improvement across the financial close, accounting, and reporting lifecycle. The Senior Analyst – R2R Lead owns the configurations, governance, and optimization of Record-to-Report related Workday Financials processes, including accounting posting rules, journal processing, reconciliations, validations, and reporting. The role also oversees the Workiva platform, ensuring effective integration with Workday Financials and alignment with financial reporting, close, and control requirements.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Serve as the functional lead for Record-to-Report operations within Workday Financials, supporting period-end close, accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting processes.
Identify, design, and implement opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance automation, and improve efficiency across R2R processes. This includes improve data accuracy (governance) and enhance the end user experience.
Lead functional analysis, design, configuration, testing, and delivery of Workday Financials reporting (dashboards and reports), including PRISM analytics strategies to support Finance Administration and institutional business needs.
Maintain and optimize accounting configurations, posting rules, validations, and related business processes to ensure accurate financial transactions and reporting.
Oversee the Workiva platform, including coordination of integrations with Workday Financials, support of financial statement preparation, and alignment with reporting and close processes.
Coordinate and lead system testing activities, including troubleshoot report-related issues, regression testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure stakeholders reporting requirements are met.
Develop report writing standards, best practices, and management of financial report repository.
Partner with Accounting, Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, and cross-functional stakeholders to document requirements, develop use cases, and ensure solutions align with accounting and reporting standards.
Support post-production road-mapping, continuous improvement initiatives, and timely delivery of system enhancements related to financial close and reporting.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
MBA, MIS, or a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, computer science or related field from an accredited University, with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Workday certification or demonstrated proficiency in Record-to-Report and at least one Workday Financial Management area (Banking and Settlement, Business Assets, or PRISM). Candidates who do not currently hold required certification must obtain or demonstrate proficiency within twelve (12) months of employment.
Experience with Workday’s reporting tools, such as Report Writer (Advance Report, Composite Report, PRISM).
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain respectful, collaborative working relationships with staff, faculty, students, and stakeholders.
