Workday Data Strategy & Financial Reporting Principal Consultant

The Workday Finance Reporting & Data Principal Consultant partners with clients to provide continuous reporting and analytics solutions that enhance their Workday investment. This position is dedicated to optimising Financials data by utilising Workday Report Writer, Calculated Fields, and BIRT. Additionally, the consultant supports clients through every stage of extracting, transforming, and loading of Finance data during a Workday implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, enhancement, and support of complex Workday reports, dashboards, and analytics.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Workday Finance Reporting, advising clients on best practices and scalable design.

  • Translate business requirements into effective analytics solutions through direct collaboration with functional and technical stakeholders.

  • Support post go-live environments by resolving issues, delivering enhancements, and managing ongoing reporting needs.

  • Assess design options, risks, and downstream impacts, providing clear recommendations aligned to Workday capabilities.

  • Mentor consultants and contribute to knowledge sharing to strengthen the Reporting and Analytics practice.

  • Support solutioning and proposal development for new and expanding engagements.

  • Guide clients through the data extract and cleansing process, including loading customer data, moving configuration from tenant to tenant, and configuring business processes and security

  • Use Workday tools of iLoad, EIB, Object Transporter, Advanced Load, and Migration Recipe to do load data and execute tenant to tenant migrations

Skills & Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Workday Reporting and Analytics, including complex calculated fields, dashboards, custom reports including matrix and composite reports, and BIRT.

  • Experience supporting Workday Financials

  • Proven leadership delivering reporting or analytics solutions for enterprise ERP platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle).

  • Background in post-production support, managed services, or long-term client engagements.

  • Strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple clients and operate in a dynamic, growing, ecosystem with minimal supervision.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Workday Certification in Finance and Advance Reporting highly desired.
