About the role

AGL’s Renewables team based at the Macarthur Wind Farm are looking for a Wind Service Technician to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our wind farms across Victoria, helping deliver AGL’s vision for a sustainable future.

Location: Based at the Macarthur Wind Farm, located in southwest Victoria, the site consists of 140 wind turbine generators with a total capacity of 420 MW, making it one of the largest wind farms in the Southern Hemisphere and a major contributor to clean, renewable energy generation in Australia.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on maintaining and servicing wind farm assets to ensure reliability, safety, and optimal performance.

What you will be doing

  • Perform routine and breakdown maintenance, servicing, inspection, and monitoring of wind farm assets

  • Prepare work records and reports, including input into SAP

  • Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) systems and AGL’s safety standards

  • Conduct Hazard Risk Analysis and Job Safety Analysis as required

  • Ensure compliance with Safe Access Rules and participate in toolbox and safety meetings

  • Receive Access Authorities and progress to Recipient In Charge (RIC) if required

  • Supervise contractors and service providers to ensure safe and high-quality work

  • Provide and receive on-the-job training, mentoring team members to maintain high skill and safety standards

  • Demonstrate AGL values by collaborating across the business and contributing to overall success

What you will bring

You’re a skilled technician with a mechanical or electrical background who is passionate about renewable energy and working safely as part of a team.

  • Electrical or Mechanical Trade qualification (a “disconnect reconnect” licence is preferred but not required)

  • HV certification (preferred but not essential)

  • Experience working with HV/LV systems, hydraulics, or mechanical systems in industrial, commercial, or residential environments

  • Understanding of wind farm operations and maintenance that supports safe and efficient performance

  • Self-motivated with strong time-management skills

  • Enjoys working both independently and collaboratively

  • Holds a valid Victorian driver’s licence

  • Is comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces

Additional desirable qualifications:
GWO training, working at heights, manual handling, HV/LV rescue, fire awareness, first aid.
