Job Description

The Web Specialist supports online content and accessibility for the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med). The Web Specialist is responsible for designing, updating, and maintaining web pages to ensure a visually engaging, accessible, and user-friendly experience. This position works closely with the Web Strategist to collaborate with stakeholders and provide content that meets organizational goals, usability standards, and evolving web trends. The position  reports to the Lead, Marketing and Communications. 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of best practices for web content, search engine optimization and structure, and proficiency reading and writing in the English. Competencies and skills of the ideal candidate include strong organizational skills and reliable follow-through, detail orientation, navigation of complex systems, sound judgment and problem solving, and experience ensuring web accessibility compliance. The ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, both with the Marketing and Communications team as well as external stakeholders with varying levels of expertise in web content, will be key to success in the role.  

 

Required Qualifications 

Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related work experience OR 

Master’s Degree and one year of related work experience 

 

Related Experience: support for online web strategy, experience in search engine optimization, content management systems, basic HTML, content planning and editorial calendars, web accessibility and web content.  

 

Compensation Grade 

B 

 

Market Salary Band: 

$62,426 - $78,033 - $93,640
