What You’ll Do

Our team leads next-generation storage planning for AI infrastructure, collaborating closely with architecture, product development, and business strategy teams. As an intern, you will contribute directly to strategic initiatives that shape how storage enables large-scale AI systems. You will analyze how agentic workflows, memory extension models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and large-scale inference architectures impact next-generation storage design.

Location: Daily onsite presence at our San Jose headquarters in alignment with our Flexible Work policy

Reports to: VP, Technical Marketing

  • Research emerging Agent AI architectures and identify infrastructure implications
  • Analyze storage requirements for LLM inference, RAG pipelines, and KV cache offloading
  • Evaluate memory extension, disaggregated storage, and NVMe-over-Fabrics trends
  • Build performance and power modeling assumptions for next-generation AI storage systems
  • Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to validate technical hypotheses
  • Develop executive-ready presentations summarizing strategic findings
  • Support competitive benchmarking of hyperscaler AI infrastructure approaches
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Must have at least one academic semester/quarter remaining after internship completion
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML fundamentals (LLMs, training vs inference, distributed systems)
  • Basic knowledge of storage systems (NVMe, SSDs, networking, memory hierarchy)
  • Analytical mindset with ability to synthesize technical research into structured insights
  • Experience with data analysis, modeling, or technical research projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred: Familiarity with AI infrastructure (GPU clusters, RDMA, NVMe-oF, CXL)
  • Preferred: Experience preparing technical presentations or strategy reports

Hourly Base Pay Rate
$28$62 USD
