Job Summary: The International Coordinator supports the distribution center’s global supply chain by planning and executing international outbound shipments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating cross-functional activities. This role acts as the primary liaison with international customer service teams, freight forwarders, carriers, and internal teams to achieve on-time, accurate, and cost-effective international distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
· Plan, schedule, and coordinate international outbound shipments (air, ocean, road, rail) to/from suppliers, manufacturers, and customers.
· Provide estimates of customer orders.
· Prepare and verify international documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading/air waybills, packing declarations, certificates of origin, HS codes, Incoterms, export/import licenses, ISF/ACI where required).
· Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies (customs compliance, sanctions screening, embargoes, license requirements, product classifications, labeling, and safety standards).
· Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers to obtain rates, secure capacity, track shipments, manage transit times, and resolve exceptions.
· Maintain accurate data in SAP systems; monitor shipment status, and KPI metrics (OTD, damage/loss).
· Develop, implement, and continuously improve standard operating procedures for international logistics.
· Ensure a safe working environment and adhere to all warehouse and transportation safety policies.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 3–5+ years of experience in international logistics, global trade compliance, or distribution center operations; experience in a distribution center setting preferred.
· Strong knowledge of international trade concepts: Incoterms and HS classification.
· Experience with SAP and proficiency in data analysis (Excel; SQL or similar a plus).
· Demonstrated ability to manage documentation and regulatory requirements for international shipments.
· Excellent communication, and relationship-building skills; ability to coordinate across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills; detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
· Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle competing priorities and tight deadlines.
Required Certifications:
· 49 CFR, IATA and ICAO certification, or other logistics/trade compliance credentials.
Working Conditions:
· Primary work is in a distribution-center; may require standing, lifting, and occasional physical tasks related to logistics operations.
· Fast-paced atmosphere with strict deadlines; time may be required outside normal business hours to support international shipments.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $46,000 - $63,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data).
