Position Overview

The Advanced Database Administrator role has primary responsibility for supporting and executing database standards in an enterprise environment.   Other desirable skills include Microsoft Windows Server OS and virtualization platforms in an enterprise environment.  General duties include building databases to standards as defined by the organization and resolving Database issues tracked via ticketing process.   Other duties would include participation in daily monitoring\tuning, capacity planning, vulnerability management, disaster recovery, standardization, continuous process improvement, and assisting in the long-term strategic planning for the environment.  Partners with management and other administrators to provide technical support using their background to take on standard to middle level work assignments the team is engaged in. Takes direction from Senior Database Administrators in support of the environment. Strong people skills and the ability to balance a large workload are essential.

What You’ll Do

  • Day to day support of database solutions via ticketing system

  • Suggest monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions to improve efficiency

  • Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation and assist in defining and documenting best practices and support procedures

  • Strong customer focus and management of client expectations; ability to establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence in IT’s knowledge of and concern for users’ business needs while showing signs of guiding and offering problem solving for group and peers

  • Present and explain technical information to diverse types of audiences (management, users, vendors, technical staff) in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding

  • Work on small to large projects in a cross-functional environment

  • Participate in the on-call production support rotation and may occasionally be required to work hours outside the traditional work schedule

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience

  • 1-3 years of related experience

  • Understanding of PowerShell and Server O/S & Virtualization basics

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server is required; experience with SQL AG Configurations strongly preferred

  • Desired Certifications: Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals or Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $100,000.00 - $120,000.00, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
