VP of Engineering, AI | Allconnect

This role is not open to visa sponsorship or transfer of visa sponsorship including those on OPT and STEM-EXT OPT, nor is it available to work corp-to-corp. 

This role requires a hybrid schedule and will be based in our South Charlotte, NC Headquarters (Monday through Thursday) and work fully remotely on Fridays each week.

Allconnect is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Vice President of Engineering to lead a critical portion of our technology organization and help define the next chapter of our engineering strategy as we continue our transition to an AI-first engineering organization.

This role sits at the intersection of technology strategy, AI-enabled development, and organizational leadership. As VP of Engineering, you will shape the long-term technical direction of the organization, embed AI capabilities into how we build and operate software, and design high-performing engineering organizations that fully leverage modern development paradigms. You will partner closely with senior business, product, and data leaders to ensure our platforms, systems, and engineering practices drive durable competitive advantage.

The ideal candidate has experience guiding teams through major shifts in how software is developed and delivered, including the adoption of AI-assisted development workflows and modern engineering practices. This leader moves beyond reactive management and instead operates with proactive ownership, strategic clarity, and a strong ability to lead organizations through meaningful technological change.

What We’re Looking For:

• 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, including significant leadership experience growing from engineering roles into management and executive leadership.
• 7+ years leading engineering organizations, including experience managing Directors or senior engineering leaders, with responsibility for organizations of 40+ engineers.
• Lead organizations through the transition to an AI-first software development lifecycle, embedding AI-assisted development, intelligent automation, and modern engineering tooling into how teams plan, build, test, and operate software.
• Proven experience defining and executing long-term technical strategies that support business growth, platform scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Deep and broad understanding of modern technology ecosystems, including frontend, backend, data platforms, and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong ability to design and evolve engineering organizations that support both immediate delivery and long-term innovation.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with senior business leaders to translate strategic priorities into scalable technical solutions.
• A decisive and thoughtful leader who can evaluate trade-offs, guide complex technical decisions, and drive alignment across teams.
• A track record of developing engineering leaders, mentoring high-potential talent, and building high-performing organizations.
  
  

What You’ll Do:

Define and Drive Engineering Strategy

• Define and communicate the long-term technical vision for your organization, ensuring engineering investments align with business growth, product strategy, and operational efficiency.
• Partner directly with senior leadership to shape technical solutions that unlock new opportunities and improve business performance.
• Contribute to and influence Red Ventures’ broader technology strategy, ensuring your organization’s direction aligns with enterprise priorities.
  
  

Lead and Scale Engineering Organizations

• Lead an engineering organization through multiple Directors, with teams spanning multiple product and platform domains.
• Design and continuously evolve organizational structures that support long-term growth, technical excellence, and operational clarity.
• Develop strong engineering leaders and build a leadership bench that scales with the organization.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across teams.

Drive Technical Excellence and Platform Evolution

• Establish and reinforce engineering standards that promote secure, scalable, and maintainable systems across frontend, backend, data, and infrastructure layers.
• Guide major platform initiatives, modernization efforts, and technical investments that enable the business to scale.
• Ensure teams are building resilient systems with strong architectural foundations and operational observability.
• Promote modern development practices, including AI-assisted engineering workflows, automation, and continuous delivery.

Partner Across Business and Technology

• Collaborate closely with Product, Data, and business leaders to understand strategic priorities and translate them into actionable technical roadmaps.
• Communicate context and strategy effectively across engineering teams, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives.
• Provide clear guidance to business stakeholders on technical trade-offs, risks, and investment decisions.

Operate as a Strategic Technology Leader

• Act as a thought leader across Red Ventures’ engineering community, influencing technical direction beyond your immediate organization.
• Represent engineering strategy in cross-functional leadership discussions and industry forums when appropriate.
• Identify emerging technologies, techniques, and operational improvements that can positively impact the business.

Compensation:

This range reflects total cash compensation, which may include base salary only or base salary plus target bonus, depending on the role. Where eligible, equity may also be offered separately and not included below. Actual compensation varies based on location, experience, and qualifications.

• Total Cash Compensation Range: $225,000 – $325,000 per year
