About the program
The Working in Science Internship Program is designed for last year's students and recent graduates who want to apply what they’ve learned in a real, global biotechnology environment. You’ll contribute to meaningful projects, gain mentorship, and develop skills that set you up for future success.

Department description:

TRISARC Technical Team
The TRIal Safety Data Review Centre (TRISARC) is a global centre that conducts first‑line reviews of important, pre‑specified safety data in late‑phase clinical trials. The TRISARC Technical Team enables and enhances safety data review across all therapeutic areas by delivering modern, compliant GxP solutions - including analyses, visualizations, and applications. The team is responsible for tool configuration, scripting, and data analysis activities that support Clinical Trial Safety.
 

Required skills, candidate background:

  • Strong attention to detail & analytical thinking

  • Able to accurately review complex information and summarize key insights.

  • Relevant background: Life sciences, bioinformatics, information technology, or a related field.

  • Data analysis/programming: Experience with Python, R, SAS, and/or Power BI for data analysis or data mining.

  • Data skills: Data cleaning, visualization, and working with relational databases (e.g., SQL).

  • Requirements gathering: Comfortable capturing stakeholder needs and translating them into clear requirements.

  • Business analysis: Ability to structure problems, interpret findings, and communicate recommendations.

Key details

  • Eligibility: Final year students and recent graduates. Please review the specific requirements for each role.

  • Duration: 3 months, starting in July.

  • Working model: Hybrid, with partial on‑site presence.

  • Selection process: Application review against objective criteria, HireVue video responses, then a remote meeting with the recruiting team.

  • Timeline: Apply by 21 March 2026. Results by mid-April.

  • Completion of the internship does not guarantee contract extension or further employment at AstraZeneca. Future opportunities may be advertised separately and require a new application.
