About the program
The Working in Science Internship Program is designed for last year's students and recent graduates who want to apply what they’ve learned in a real, global biotechnology environment. You’ll contribute to meaningful projects, gain mentorship, and develop skills that set you up for future success.

We partner with Finance to develop and deliver the data strategy, ensuring the right data foundations, platforms, and capabilities to enable trusted insights and value creation. We establish and operate robust data governance—defining ownership, policies, standards, and controls—while driving proactive data quality assurance to safeguard accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across critical Finance data domains. We run scalable data operations, including metadata, lineage, and master/reference data management, to deliver reliable, compliant, and efficient data services that support reporting, planning, analytics, and regulatory needs.


General requirements:

  • Business management, finance or related educational background/profile
  • Fluency in English

Required skills:

  • Data Literacy: Ability to interpret datasets, understand data types, and common data quality issues.
  • Analytical Thinking: Structured problem-solving, hypothesis framing, and translating business questions into measurable metrics and analyses.
  • Visualization and Reporting: Skills with tools such as Power BI to build clear, stakeholder-ready dashboards and visuals.
  • Data Governance Awareness: Understanding of concepts like data lineage, metadata, master/reference data, access controls, and compliance (e.g., GDPR basics).
  • Communication and Storytelling: Writing concise summaries, presenting insights to non-technical audiences, and documenting assumptions and limitations.

Key details

  • Eligibility: Final year students and recent graduates. Please review the specific requirements for each role.
  • Duration: 3 months, starting in July.
  • Working model: Hybrid, with partial on‑site presence.
  • Selection process: Application review against objective criteria, HireVue video responses, then a remote meeting with the recruiting team.
  • Timeline: Apply by 21 March 2026. Results by mid-April.

Important information

  • Completion of the internship does not guarantee contract extension or further employment at AstraZeneca. Future opportunities may be advertised separately and require a new application.
