Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a skilled and dedicated Vision Plus Developer to join our team. The role is essential in designing, developing, and supporting software solutions within the Vision Plus framework to meet business objectives. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering reliable, efficient, and innovative banking technology solutions, ensuring optimal performance of Vision Plus modules to enhance client satisfaction and operational excellence.
Software Requirements
- Required:
- Mainframe Technologies: JCL, COBOL, VSAM, CICS
- Vision Plus Modules: CMS, FAS, TRAMS, VMx
- Operating Systems: Mainframe operating environments
- Preferred:
- Version control tools (e.g., Git, SVN)
- Application development tools supporting Vision Plus environment
- Any relevant client or industry-specific software experience
Overall Responsibilities
- Lead and support the design, development, and maintenance of Vision Plus modules, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Monitor and resolve incidents in Production and UAT environments swiftly and effectively to minimize downtime.
- Provide technical expertise on sub-systems such as CMS, FAS, TRAMS, and VMx to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, Testing, and Support to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Develop technical solution design documents based on comprehensive understanding of client requirements.
- Offer functional and technical guidance to team members and stakeholders, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Facilitate issue resolution through detailed analysis, troubleshooting, and timely fixes.
- Support deployment, stabilization, and post-implementation activities to ensure the ongoing reliability of solutions.
- Maintain high-level comprehension of all VisionPlus subsystems and batch processing workflows to optimize system performance.
Technical Skills (By Category)
- Programming Languages:
- Required: COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS
- Preferred: Additional scripting or modern languages enhancing integration capabilities
- Databases/Data Management:
- Experience with VSAM files and database management within mainframe environments
- Cloud Technologies:
- Not essential but familiarity with cloud integration is a plus
- Frameworks and Libraries:
- VisionPlus-specific modules and APIs
- Development Tools and Methodologies:
- Mainframe development environments, version control tools, Agile methodologies
- Security Protocols:
- Good understanding of mainframe security and access control protocols
Experience Requirements
- 2 to 10 years of experience as a VisionPlus Developer, Support, or Lead.
- Proven expertise with Vision Plus modules (CMS, FAS, TRAMS, VMx) in a support or development capacity.
- Experience in troubleshooting, incident management, and problem resolution in mainframe environments.
- Industry experience within banking, financial services, or payment processing preferred.
- Candidates with alternative experience in related mainframe or financial transaction processing systems will also be considered.
Day-to-Day Activities
- Analyze and resolve incidents impacting Vision Plus systems in production and testing environments.
- Collaborate with teams during development cycles, testing, and deployment phases.
- Develop and review technical documentation, including design and troubleshooting guides.
- Conduct system monitoring, performance tuning, and early detection of potential issues.
- Participate in regular team meetings and communicate project status effectively.
- Make informed decisions on issue prioritization and resolution strategies to meet SLAs.
Qualifications
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
- Certifications:
- Mainframe or related technology certifications are desirable.
- Training & Professional Development:
- Ongoing learning in mainframe and banking technology trends encouraged.
