The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria. VIE Main Requirements are:

- European Union citizens (plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Monaco), graduates up to and including 28 years old.

- Have fulfilled military obligations for their country, if any.

- Fluent in English.

A VIE for a “Airworthiness engineer (m/f)” has arisen within Airbus Helicopters Japan in Kobe, Hyogo, Japan. You will join the Engineering Department, Airworthiness office.

AHJ is one of the largest Customer Center Design Office dedicated to Airbus Helicopters customizations. Its engineering department studies and develops various modifications and specific solutions for the Japanese domestic market and the Asia-Pacific region. The proposed VIE is for Aerospace students the opportunity to have valuable work experience in a technical business unit of the leading helicopter manufacturer with global reach.

This VIE can start in the first half of 2026 and will last 24 months.

Mission & accountabilities as Airworthiness engineer:

Within AHJ Airworthiness Office, your responsibilities will be the management of engineering and technical activities ensuring helicopters modified by AHJ are airworthy and therefore in safe condition for flight. In connection with AHJ Design Office, Project and Tests departments, you will manage the necessary approvals (certification) by showing compliance to technical requirements (eg. by test, analysis…).

Your tasks will be:

• Acquire helicopter engineering knowledge.

• Acquire knowledge in airworthiness regulations and requirements (ICAO, EASA, JCAB, FAR, CS…), study and analyse them.

• Handle certification/qualification activities (STC) as airworthiness engineer;

  • Define and coordinate certification/qualification strategy within engineering team

  • Prepare certification plan means of compliance proposals (eg test, analysis…)

  • Prepare explanation and negotiation materials to authorities

  • Support for liaison with authorities (eg explanation, negotiation…).

• Maintain and improve design and certification process (design management system).

• Coordinate for design organization approvals (Design Supplier Approvals, JCAB DOA…).

This role may involve some travel for business within Japan and the Asia Pacific Region (APAC) or worldwide and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

You have the following skills and experience:

• Education in Engineering (Master degree), preferably in Aerospace

• Passion and curiosity for technology and aviation

• Learner mindset to study and analyse airworthiness, safety and design requirements 

• Rigorous mindset, ability to work methodically with precision and thoroughness

• Ability to interface with engineering teams and discuss technical matters clearly and simply

• Good communication skills, ability to work with different cultures

• English skill - Fluent

Un poste sous contrat VIE intitulé « Ingénieur Navigabilité (h/f) » est à pourvoir au sein d’Airbus Helicopters Japan à Kobe, Hyogo, Japon. Vous rejoindrez le Bureau d'Études au service Navigabilité.

AHJ est l'un des plus importants Customer Center Design Office dédié aux personnalisations d'hélicoptères. Son département d'ingénierie étudie et développe diverses modifications et solutions spécifiques pour le marché intérieur japonais et la région Asie-Pacifique. Ce VIE proposé aux étudiants en Aérospatiale est une opportunité d’obtenir une belle expérience de travail au sein du Bureau d'Etudes du premier fabricant d'hélicoptères mondial. 

Ce VIE peut commencer au premier semestre 2026 et durera 24 mois.

Missions et responsabilités d’un Ingénieur Navigabilité:

Au sein de l'équipe Navigabilité, vous serez chargé de la gestion des activités techniques et d'ingénierie assurant la navigabilité et conditions sécuritaires pour le vol des hélicoptères personnalisés par AHJ. En lien avec le Bureau d'Études, le département des Projets et des Essais, vous serez chargé de la gestion des approbations (certification) en démontrant la conformité aux exigences techniques (ex: essais, analyses).

Vous serez responsable des activités principales suivantes:

• Acquérir des connaissances à propos de l'ingénierie des hélicoptères.

• Acquérir des connaissances à propos des lois et exigences de navigabilité (ICAO, EASA, JCAB, FAR, CS…), les étudier et les analyser.

• Organiser les activités de certification/qualification (STC) en tant qu'Ingénieur Navigabilité;

  • Définir et coordonner la stratégie de certification/qualification au sein du Bureau d'Études.

  • Préparer les plans de certification et moyen de démonstration de conformité (ex: essais, analyses).

  • Préparer les présentations explicatives et négociations avec les autorités. 

  • Faire la liaison avec les autorités (ex: explications, négociation…).

• Maintenir et améliorer les procédures de design et certification (design management system).

• Coordonner avec les approbations de l’organisation de design (Design Supplier Approvals, JCAB DOA…).

Le poste peut impliquer des déplacements au Japon et dans la région Asie-Pacifique ou à l'international, par conséquent, vous devrez être en mesure de pouvoir voyager.

Competences requires

Vous avez les expériences et les compétences suivantes:

• Diplôme d'ingénieur (Master), de préférence en Aérospatiale

• Passion et curiosité pour la technique et l’aviation

• Capacité d’apprendre et intégrer les exigences de navigabilité, sécurité et design

• Rigueur et capacité de travailler méthodiquement, avec précision et profondeur

• Capacité d'interagir avec les équipes d'ingénierie et de discuter des questions techniques de manière claire et simple.

• Bonnes capacités de communication, aptitude à travailler avec des cultures différentes

• Le niveau de négociation en anglais est obligatoire
