Salary range (but not limited to):
54,900 - 67,100Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.
About the role
We're looking for an Underwriter I, Personal Lines, to join our growing Nordic team!
What you'll do here:
Assess and evaluate insurance policy risks.
Process, underwrite and authorize the acceptance of new business, renewals, cancellations and endorsements to develop and retain profitable business.
Ensure authorized limits are in accordance with established company guidelines, applicable laws and regulations as well as apply standard rates and premiums in underwriting quotes.
Review supporting claims reports and legal background.
Provide technical advice, recommendations, and mentoring to Underwriting Assistants.
May provide training and information sessions.
Answering inquiries and making recommendations to agents through verbal and written correspondence.
Develop and manage relationships with internal/external business partners: participate in insurance industry and marketing events
Write summaries regarding overall results.
What you bring to the table:
University or any combination of equivalent education and experience
Minimum 2 years of Auto Underwriting experience required
Good understanding of Alberta Auto Underwriting
Must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking
Must be able to interpret policy wording and legal documents
Excellent sales and customer retention skills
Proficient computer and keyboarding skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship building abilities
Demonstrated efficiency and strong time-management skills to meet competing productivity
Insurance Professional (CIP) designation completed or in progress is an asset.
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
