Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services supporting the U.S. government, allied partners, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a UH Housekeeper to support a unique U.S. Navy program located on the remote island of Diego Garcia.
Job Responsibilities
The UH Housekeeper provides housekeeping and custodial services for Unaccompanied Housing (UH) facilities in accordance with Navy housing standards and cleanliness requirements. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing living quarters, common areas, restrooms, and laundry facilities to ensure a safe, hygienic, and comfortable living environment for assigned personnel.
The UH Housekeeper performs routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waste removal, and linen changes. This role includes using approved cleaning supplies and equipment, following established sanitation procedures, and adhering to safety and environmental guidelines.
Additional duties include supporting room turnovers, assisting with pre‑occupancy and move‑out inspections, reporting maintenance issues or safety concerns, and maintaining assigned storage and cleaning areas in an orderly condition. The UH Housekeeper contributes to quality‑of‑life initiatives and supports daily operations in a remote, mission‑driven environment.
Minimum Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in housekeeping, custodial services, or facilities cleaning
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, sanitation standards, and safe chemical use
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and prolonged standing
- Must be in possession of a valid Passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Passport should be valid for a minimum of 1 plus years at the time of hiring.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
- Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
- Valid country driver's license
- Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
