Job Description:

The Treasury Consolidations Supervisor is responsible for UPS fair value compliance, including but not limited to derivatives, investments, intercompany loans, and debt accounting. Accounting responsibilities include global cash accounting in the UPS treasury management system, balancing intercompany GL accounts (domestic and international), preparing/posting month end closing journal entries for Inter-Company treasury related activity.  The supervisor is responsible for developing and reviewing forecasts, preparing month-end accounting entries, and preparing external reporting footnotes (specific to Treasury). Furthermore, the supervisor will assist in research related to updated Treasury accounting guidance & any new projects with the potential to impact treasury accounting / financial statements. This position supervises a specialist.

Prepares monthly accounting entries:

  • Supervisor prepares and validates journal entries various complex accounting areas (i.e., derivatives, intercompany loans, investments cash clearing)
  • Works with Treasury systems to correct any system-related accounting errors
  • Throughout the month, works with various regional treasury centers ensure accurate reporting of intercompany loans

Supervises and Develops Others:

  • Determines employees’ training needs to produce continuous development plans.
  • Provides on-going feedback and support to improve performance.
  • Conducts performance evaluations in a consistent, fair, and objective manner to encourage continuous performance improvement.
  • Holds others accountable to established performance levels to achieve individual and group goals.

Preferences

  • Demonstrates a broad business and accounting knowledge; describes methods in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Captures/documents specific and accurate information; learns subjects thoroughly and in detail; completes work with thoroughness; supplies appropriate details when requested; maintains organized files
  • Understands basic financial terminology and concepts such as cash flows, operating profit/loss, and net income; conducts financial analyses
  • Bachelor’s degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Accounting
  • Experience supervising others
  • CPA or CPA Candidate Preferred
