Director Finance, Plant Controller - Manufacturing Site Oss

The Position

The Oss Plant Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Oss Manufacturing Plant. This role involves managing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting to ensure the plant's financial health and compliance with corporate policies and regulations. The Plant Controller will work closely with plant management and Manufacturing finance teams to drive financial performance and support strategic decision-making.

The role leads the local Finance team of a key strategic site within an internal network of 6 manufacturing sites. This role reports directly to the Executive Finance Director, Organon Manufacturing Operations & External Manufacturing.

You will lead a team of 5 Finance Professionals with operational areas to support achieving the company’s site objectives. You will liaise with several other Finance functions.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership: Work closely with plant management, operations, and manufacturing finance teams to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives. 
  • Financial Analysis: Perform detailed financial analysis to support business decisions, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, implement, and manage the plant's budget and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and control manufacturing costs, analyze variances, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Strategy Development: Contribute to the development of the plant's strategic goals and initiatives. Collaborate with senior management to create long-term financial plans that support the overall business strategy.
  • Financial Modeling: Create and maintain financial models to evaluate strategic options, assess risks, and support decision-making processes.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the plant's financial and operational performance. Provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Business Case Analysis: Prepare and present business cases for new projects, investments, and initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and reviews to maintain financial integrity.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory accounting and ensure accurate reporting of inventory levels, valuation, and obsolescence.
  • Capital Expenditures: Manage capital expenditure budgeting, tracking, and reporting to ensure effective utilization of plant resources.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the plant's finance team, providing guidance, training and performance management.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills 

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. MBA, CPA, CMA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • At least 10-15 years of experience in financial roles. 
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in financial management roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and cost management. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and industry standards.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Dutch.
