Tessera is seeking an organized and proactive Transportation Scheduler to plan and coordinate transportation activities at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor. This role is responsible for assigning routes, managing driver schedules, and ensuring safe, timely, and efficient service. The Transportation Scheduler serves as a key point of communication with drivers and customers, resolving issues quickly and optimizing operations to meet mission needs.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Determines the most efficient routes for vehicles and drivers to minimize travel time and fuel consumption.
Creates, updates and maintains driver schedules, coordinating time-off requests, and ensuring adequate staffing levels.
Prepares, reviews and completes work orders to ensure accurate charges are charged for work accomplished to the customer.
Assigns drivers to specific routes and ensure they have all necessary information for their trips.
Tracks the progress of shipments and deliveries using transportation management systems, and making real-time adjustments as needed.
Addresses any unexpected delays, vehicle issues, or other challenges that may arise during transportation operations.
Tracks vehicle locations and statuses, monitoring delivery progress, and making dynamic adjustments to routes or schedules as needed to address delays or changes.
Maintains accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and driver information, and updating transportation management systems with relevant data.
Collect/Reviews and ensures daily driver logs are accurate and complete.
Prepares monthly reports per contract requirements (BSVE Mileage reporting, BSVE Ridership, CAC Monthly Inspections), facilities requests, and ensures proper notification to customers.
Responsible for drill timeline during drills - account for timeline information back to drill director. Meeting with Govt. drill director prior to drilling, recording of timeline record of start & stop times, employee locations, and POCs and meeting with Govt. drill director at conclusion of drill.
Qualifications:
Highschool Diploma/GED is required.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in transportation, logistics, or dispatch.
An equivalent combination of experience and education allowed.
Proven experience in dispatching, transportation logistics, or related fields.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising effectively with customers and team members.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
