This role will drive the product management agenda within the country/market, managing the end-to-end product life cycle for a suite of products (e.g., Trade and Working Capital Solutions). The incumbent will own product strategy, definition, development, and execution. This includes building and prioritizing a product backlog, defining business requirements, and managing associated business processes, risks, and controls. This position requires a candidate with a strong background in product management, product development, project management, risk & controls, and a deep understanding of Trade and Working Capital Solutions and associated business processes. The role will report to the MEA Trade and Working Capital Solutions Head and will partner closely with Sales, Technology, Operations, and Risk & Controls teams
Responsibilities
Execute the product strategy in various markets for all product pillars within Trade and Working Capital Solutions, including Core Trade, Trade and Working Capital Loans, Payables Finance and Receivables Finance
Identify market opportunities, emerging trends, and client needs, ensuring the readiness of Trade and Working Capital Solutions products accordingly
Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Technology, and Compliance to implement new products or enhance existing ones
Map out and understand all local regulations applicable to the product and their impact on monitoring and regulatory reporting requirements
Identify, prioritize, and author product and business requirements/user stories, including sequencing and timing to enhance business processes and controls
Maintain product documentation, capability grids, policies, and procedures, ensuring all local regulatory requirements are being complied with
Act as a subject matter expert for Trade and Working Capital Solutions products, providing guidance and training to the sales team
Participate in client meetings where required to represent the product and gather feedback
Assist with ongoing performance and maintenance of a product or set of products, including client experience, pricing, risk, and distribution
Represent customer needs and provide strategic direction on product development features, functionality, and overall competitiveness
Manage any proactive product risk and control, documentation, credit, legal, and regulatory risk for the markets
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding the firm, its clients, and assets by driving compliance
Qualifications
Relevant experience in Product Management and/or Product Development
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Trade Finance, Working Capital, and Transaction Banking products
Extensive knowledge and understanding of local (GCC) regulations for the specific products
Working knowledge of different banking systems and practices relevant to the function
Practical experience of multiple business cycles and product flow
Knowledge of industry and competitor products/services across the GCC region
Deep experience establishing and enhancing a Product controls environment
Experience driving software delivery transformation through Agile practice and process, with a focus on establishing a Continuous Delivery culture and process
Ability to make complex judgments and to provide solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, comparing and selecting complex alternatives
Developed diplomacy skills required to guide, influence, and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers
Experience with and confidence in delivering presentations to clients and senior managers
Education
Bachelor’s degree / University degree or equivalent experience
Experience of ideally working in KSA and/or the GCC region
Fluent English; Arabic speaking preferred
Master’s degree preferred
