We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Risk Advisory Analyst to support the governance and oversight of BMO’s TPS Product Suitability intake reviews and the Front Door regulatory review process. This role plays an essential part in ensuring that all product-related requests and customer‑facing materials adhere to BMO’s regulatory, operational, and risk management standards.

The ideal candidate is thorough, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires coordination with cross-functional teams including Product, Compliance, Sales and AML.

Key Responsibilities

Product Suitability Oversight

In this function, you will:

  • Complete TPS Product Suitability intake reviews evaluating new and existing client product requests for appropriateness, regulatory and AML alignment, and overall risk; identifying and communicating unsuitable requests; and guiding the exception process for restricted or prohibited product usage.
  • Maintain suitability matrices to provide guidance for complex clients’ product use, and partner with Product Management and AML to update requirements when  changes occur.
  • Perform quality assurance and control testing by monitoring adherence to product restrictions, validating correct implementation of approved requests, documenting findings, and escalating issues for remediation.
  • Maintain audit‑ready documentation by issuing formal Product Suitability Intake results to stakeholders, managing tracking logs, and ensuring all materials are timely, complete, and compliant.

Front Door Review Governance

You will also support the Front Door process, which ensures:

  • Ensure all marketing materials, and external customer facing communications comply with regulatory, operational, and disclosure requirements while applying risk controls consistently across all incoming submissions.
  • Conduct risk-based regulatory reviews for regulatory requirements, product disclosures, operational and compliance matters and ensure timely reviews.
  • Provide risk‑focused feedback on marketing and customer‑facing materials through edits and comments, ensuring all communications align with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and brand guidelines.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation by tracking incoming request review, managing the internal status tracker reviews and ensure all materials are timely, complete and compliance.
  • Support the development of monthly metric decks by gathering data, validating accuracy, organizing insights, and preparing clear visual summaries that highlight key trends, risks, and performance indicators for leadership review.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in compliance, AML, risk, payments, or financial services.
  • Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills
  • Strong time and task management
  • Knowledge in  Microsoft office, Copilot and Power BI.
  • Excellent documentation, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with AML, Compliance, Risk, and business partners.

Salary:

$57,500.00 - $106,500.00

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
