The Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts seeks a part-time House Manager to join our patron services team for 8-12 hours a week, evenings on Wednesdays through Saturdays, and Sunday afternoon matinees, during performance weeks. House Managers provide excellent customer service for performing arts events in the Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts. See performance date schedule below.
Performance dates for Spring 2026:
The House Manager serves as main point of contact for performing arts patrons attending each performance and provides exceptional customer service to guests while maintaining a professional, helpful, and friendly demeanor; supervises ushers in ticket-taking and seating of the audience before and during presentation of theatrical productions in the Theatre, Film, and Media Arts building’s Proscenium and Black Box theatre spaces; answers questions, provides information, and manages customer complaints; serves as representative of the Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts to the audience; generates a short production report at conclusion of each performance; and engages with the other members of our tight-knit team as a helpful, cooperative, and trustworthy coworker.
Hourly Rate: $15.50/hr.
Required Qualifications: High School diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant experience required. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to manage periods of high customer volume.
Desired Qualifications: 2-4 years of relevant experience and knowledge of first aid and CPR strongly desired.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
