The Eric and Wendy Schmidt AI in Science Postdoctoral Fellowship, an initiative funded by Schmidt Sciences aims to accelerate the next scientific revolution by applying AI to research in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This Fellowship provides an opportunity for early career researchers from Singapore and around the world to pursue an independent research path. This programme will provide access to AI tools and training to the Fellows to develop and use AI in innovative methods to make the world better.
This work will be conducted at the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering , Nanyang Technological University. The Fellow is expected to:
Responsibilities:
Design artificial intelligence based audio systems for active noise control and sound environment modeling
Process audio data using signal processing and machine learning techniques
Develop and test deep learning models for acoustic perception and control
Conduct real-world audio experiments and subjective listening evaluations
Implement and validate low-latency audio systems
Collaborate with research staff to solve acoustic modeling problems
Prepare technical reports and present research progress regularly
Job Requirements:
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, Signal Processing, or related fields
Strong knowledge of audio signal processing and machine learning
Programming skills (Python, MATLAB, or C or C++)
Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch
Basic understanding of real-time acoustic systems and wave propagation
Good communication and academic writing skills
