The Test Track Vehicle Operator will support test and evaluation efforts within the Naval Air Warfare Division located in China Lake, CA. This role plays a key part in performing reliability and sustainability testing on vehicles, for the performance of testing operations on specialized ranges.

Working closely with program teams, the test track vehicle operator will be responsible for supporting mission-critical testing that directly impacts program outcomes and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, technical accuracy, and the ability to collaborate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Operate specialized test vehicles and electronic devices in harsh environments
  • Conduct safety/preparation inspections and prepare documentation of vehicle inspections
  • Operate/install specialized military and civilian radios.
  • Executing test events according to direction from test engineers and customer expectations
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues or inconsistencies
  • Work extended hours as required and the ability to sit for prolonged periods of time in an outdoor environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or government programs
  • Familiarity with military vehicle operations
  • Experience using military radio communications

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week

Basic Compensation: $20.57-$25.76/hr. The range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
