Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop a test team (automation & manual), including hiring, performance coaching, career pathing, and fostering a quality-first team culture.
- Define and execute the overall QA strategy, with a focus on automation roadmap development—prioritizing test cases for automation (e.g., regression, API, UI) to reduce manual effort and accelerate release cycles.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of automation frameworks and scripts using tools/tech stacks such as Selenium, Appium, Postman, RestAssured, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Collaborate with development, product, and DevOps teams to integrate automation testing into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI), enabling continuous testing and faster feedback loops.
- Establish QA metrics (e.g., automation coverage rate, defect escape rate, test execution efficiency) to track team performance, identify bottlenecks, and report quality status to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements by embedding relevant checks into testing processes.
- Stay updated on emerging automation testing tools, methodologies, and industry best practices to continuously optimize the QA function.
Requirements and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6+ years of software testing experience, including 3+ years in automation testing (hands-on experience with frameworks like Selenium/Appium/Cypress) and 2+ years of people management experience leading QA teams.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) and experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr) and defect tracking systems.
- Deep understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines—ability to align testing processes with fast-paced iterative development.
- Proven track record of increasing automation coverage (e.g., from 30% to 70%) and reducing release cycle time while maintaining or improving product quality.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Elevator/Escalator industrial development/test experience is preferred.
